Nauticam NA-70D in action in Crystal River, Florida

Posted by Alex Tattersall on 23rd Nov 2014

I was happy to take the Nauticam NA-70D housing on a field trip to Crystal River during the DEMA show. The new housing featured some of the latest ergonomic developments plus the first housing in the range to include the new Nauticam vacuum pump system.

I used the Nauticam housing with a Zen 200mm dome, 20mm extension and the Tokina 10-17. No strobes were allowed so all shots were natural light.

We started off in very low light at 7am in poor visibility which provided rich ground to test the high ISO capability of the camera. These were taken using ISO 1000

The following images were taken outside the Three Sister’s Springs where visibility was improved and dynamic range became more of an issue.

Thanks to Birds Underwater for looking after us so well. The Canon 70D is a real temptation away from my recent Nikon passion. I’ll be looking at the Canon 8-15mm Fisheye now I am back in the Canon camp.
